Have a night full of fun without emptying your wallet

You have got the party feeling and all your friends are ringing you, telling you that you’ve got to go out! You don’t want to miss out just because you are afraid to look at your wallet when you wake up the next day. Even though, you’ve got the money, you still want to have a great night out and not spend the next week eating pasta. It’s not only you – almost every student has, at some point been in this position. But guess what? IT IS WORTH IT!

Especially, if you know the sensible way to do it. I am talking about one of the most extraordinary clubs in Europe – Fabric, where you can have a great night out, spending between £50-60.

Fabric’s Saturday night is highly unpredictable and utterly compelling.” – The Guardian

Fabric has been second place in DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 clubs list” for two consecutive years. It has Europe’s first bass-loaded “bodysonic” dance floor which allow clubbers to feel the music through bass frequencies transmitted into their body via their feet. This system creates an amazing feeling even if the music being played is not your favourite, and the list of world famous DJs performing there is endless. There are all kinds of music on offer from Drum ‘n’ Bass, Hip Hop and Dub-step to Funk and House.

My first advice is – pre-drink. Get your favourite alcohol from the local shop and have a couple of drinks to enhance your mood before leaving. It will cost you no more than £10, if you don’t want to get smashed and not remember that you have actually been to Fabric that night, of course. Getting there is easy and you won’t need more than £6 for a tube ticket, depending on your starting point. The nearest tube station is Farringdon, which is on the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle lines, but if you are having trouble getting there, use the TFL journey planner.
For excitement and thrills, no other night touches this one. FABRICLIVE just keeps on cutting it.” – Evening Standard

Alright, you have arrived, you have your student ID card and you are in the queue. On a busy night you might end up waiting a long time to get in, but don’t worry, the club has a capacity of 2,500, 3 bars over two levels and a total area of 25,000 square feet, so be patient. What’s more, the club is open 24 hours, so you won’t have to leave at 2am just when you are starting having fun.

The usual ticket price is £20, BUT you have your student ID card with you and it you will only have to pay £10 (sometimes even less). So far, you have spent £26 and you are finally inside. It may seem overwhelming at first, but after you got your bearings and have checked out all the rooms, (which are connected by corridors) you will easily find your way around. The electric atmosphere, unusual brick walls, and huge dance halls will make you feel relaxed and ready for partying. The best thing about this club is that it is unpretentious, there is no dress code and the staff have a laid-back attitude. Whenever you feel tired, or want to rest your dancing-feet you can sit on one of the bed-sized couches and chill out.
After you have seen how amazing Fabric is, as a whole, you will want another drink. Let me make it clear – getting stupidly drunk is not gonna help you have a memorable night or save money, so I suggest you get either a beer (£4) or a spirit and mixer (£10). I assure you, you won’t feel stupid or not tipsy enough.
When it comes to the end of the night, and you decide it’s time to head home, all you have to do is decide how – no one wants to get a night bus after a fun and tiring night, it completely ruins the mood. If there are a few of you, you might prefer to share a taxi, and it will probably cost no more than tickets for the night bus. For instance, the fare from Fabric to Harrow is £50, which is £10 each. You can estimate for yourself how much cheaper is going to be if you split up a taxi home.
For me, traveling through central London, when there is no one on the streets and it’s almost dawn, was the perfect ending to a perfect night. I didn’t regret spending £50, because Fabric is one of London’s best clubs and I had a great night out. I have also decided that I am going to save £50 a month just to go to Fabric, because I would prefer to have one amazing night rather than ten mediocre evenings at the local club.
I hope you like the Fabric experience as much as I did. If not, get back to me and tell me where I went wrong.
