Top 5 Fitness Workouts You Can Do At Home

There is no doubt that uni life can get stressful some times. That’s why it’s vital to do some basic daily exercises. Of course, I am not telling you to wake up at 6am with a smile on your face, but a bit of a workout will get you ready for the day.

If you have a gym right at the top of your street, then you can consider yourself lucky. If you don’t, then you can do some simple exercises on your own. Remember, your room can a good gym and you can be your own trainer. Start by making a playlist on your laptop, put on your favourite tunes with energetic beats and start exercising. As a previous ‘professional’ tennis player, I can say that I miss sports very much. That’s why the easiest way to keep yourself fit and slim is to practice at home. Here is a short list of the top 5 fitness workouts:

1. STAIR CLIMBING

If you have a staircase in your home, you can have a personal step aerobics class by simply climbing the stairs. First, stand at the bottom of the stairs and walk in place for about one minute to get your muscles warmed up. Second, step up onto the first stair, and then back down. Repeat this move ten times.  Third, walk up the first two stairs, and then back down. Repeat ten times. Continue doing this for 30 min.


2. LAUNDRY LIFTS

I am sure you never thought that a laundry basket could be an arm sculpting exercise. Just hold the basket full of clothes above your head, lift upward and then back down. Up and down. Continue to do this up fifteen lifts times.

3.WORKOUT VIDEOS

There is nothing easier than buying a couple of workout DVD’s from your local video rental store. If you don’t believe in them, let me tell you that there are a hell of a lot of cool workout videos that can help you get a perfect body. The 8-minute video series have various tutorials for training your arms, back, butt, thighs, and more. You can always go online to find them. Here is a good website – Exercise TV .

4.MARCHING DISHES

Uni life is hard and you don’t always have time to wash your dishes. If you are stuck in front of a mountain of dirty plates, try to multi-task. March in place. You can also try to lift yourself up and down on your tiptoes. Try to this exercise every time you wash your dishes.

5. BUST A MOVE

Dancing is a great way to lose some weight. If you don’t fancy to go to a club, you can always have a dance at home, and it also great fun. It might look weird but all that matters is that you are burning some calories and enjoying yourself. I would advise you to go to YouTube and find some really good belly-dance tutorials. Belly dance and yoga can always be practiced at home.

It is really important to practice sports at least 20 mins a day in order to feel fresh, active and to think effectively. Don’t forget: A healthy body makes a healthy mind!
